Trash.lab is an entity created by a man named Alex "Spud" Klingbeil.

Spud was born in Hinton, Alberta, Growing up in Rocky Mountain House, Alberta; where his love of nature and its constant battle with human interference was developed. His interest in the cycle of life where everything in the end gets taken back to nature is what fuels most of his work.

Across sculpture, ceramics, painting, performance, and wearable work, TrashLab returns to transformation: discarded matter becoming an object, a figure becoming an artifact, and nature steadily reclaiming what people leave behind.

This website preserves work originally published between 2014 and 2016 while creating room for new galleries, journal entries, and featured artists.
